S.T.O.P (Safety Training Option Program)

Have you received a traffic citation in McPherson County? Would you like to have it dismissed? Take an eight hour defensive driving class (for a fee) and you could avoid a court appearance and have no points on your license.
There are certain restrictions for this program. The county attorney has the right to refuse or accept any individual. You are not eligible if your citation was for:

1. Parking Citations
2. CDL Operator’s license holder
3. Major traffic citations (leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, willful reckless or reckless driving)
4. Citations for multiple violations, except for:

• Proof of insurance not in the vehicle
• Valid driver’s license not on person
• Not wearing a seatbelt
• Valid registration not in vehicle
